Enjoy Irish Culture ezine, December 2013 issue
December 01, 2013
Dear subscribers,

Welcome to our December newsletter!

In the last month we have been very busy with a lot of technical 'stuff' behind the scenes, improving functionality and structure throughout the website. It's the kind of stuff you, the reader, might not notice immediately, but that will improve user friendliness. If you notice any changes, leave us a Facebook comment and let us know how you like them!

Apart from our steep technical learning curve (sigh!) we have still managed to run our first Facebook competition with Wanda Hendrickson winning Colm's recent painting of Annaghdown Castle. Like our FB page (EnjoyIrishCulture)for a daily interactive experience and for updates on future competitons.

As well as all that, we have written up some content.

One of Colm's longstanding fascinations is with the Battle of Knockdoe. The battlefield is in the neighbourhood here! This bloody battle took place in 1504 and completely changed the power balance in medieval Ireland. The page gives you great insight into the culture of medieval war lords and their warriors. Some great images, too, courtesy of our friends at Claoimh.ie.

Susanna then did some more writing up on visits from last summer. Check out our new pages on our visit to the Rock of Cashel, its' history, and the reality of medieval life on the Rock.

Enough tasters for now!

Wishing you a relaxed month of December filled with the joys of the Christmas season. Talk again in the new year!

Regards from Colm and Susanna
